The Whitelee Wind Farm is the largest on-shore wind farm in the United Kingdom and the second largest in Europe. The wind farm is a strategic piece in the Scottish Governments plan for 100% of Scottish energy to come from renewable sources.
The park includes walking and cycling routes, lochs and monuments making it a relaxed day out in good weather. The wind farm itself crosses three council areas; the visitor centre is located in East Renfrewshire but the majority of turbines are located in South Lanarkshire and East Ayreshire.
The James Hamilton Heritage Park is a small country park in East Kilbride featuring a 16-acre loch. The park is also a bird sanctuary and is home to a variety of water birds, including geese, swans, herons and many more. It us ajacent to Mains Castle, a private residence which has stood since the 15th century.
With the soft creaking of branches overhead and the smell of fresh trees, Scotland's many woodland trails will transport you into nature. These photos were taken at a variety of different locations, including the Clyde walkway, Rouken Glen, Calderglen, Pollok Park and the Wallace Monument.
